Appearance
At eighteen, current Book One prose gives dirty-blonde hair in loose fronds and piercing blue eyes, with a gentle, curvier build and round, smiley face in the legacy profile. On 2026-08-15 the author rejected the SeaDance Hugo-box group scene as Julia's website portrait and requested three standalone states: cream day gown in the Villa library; pale green and cream court dress with arranged hair and silver collar in Hugo's house; and tightly braided hair with a plain pale Blessed robe and green sash in Book Four. The retained Hugo-house portrait has the intended low V bodice, sleeveless fit and silver collar. Its corrected full-length partner preserves the original short mid-thigh hem, restores natural anatomy and replaces the rejected tight fit with loose soft folds. Gold-edged outer-side tailoring runs to the waistband over an opaque matching modesty lining; there is no train, long skirt or trailing rear fabric. These consistent dirty-blonde, blue-eyed website images remain review interpretations rather than approved reusable masters.
Voice and manner
Gentle, observant and self-questioning, with flashes of dry wit. She notices plants, animals, hands, breath, wounds, texture and small kindnesses. Early trauma makes her speak less; later anger makes her precise rather than simply loud.
Skills, Essan and limitations
Herbs, plants, animals, practical healing, Blessed Essan-funnelling and emerging elemental work: earth as steadiness, water as cleansing and flow, air as breath and space, and fire as controlled boundary. Healing and elements carry physical and emotional cost.
Knowledge limits
Julia knows the personal reality of Hugo's system, learns the internal factions and limits of the Blessed, discovers the Quiet Tithe and acquires evidence of the southern slaver routes. Her knowledge of Olivia's full Kalton betrayal remains deliberately incomplete.
