Identity and portrayal

Appearance

Legacy profile: about fifteen, tall and gangly at five feet eight, olive sun-tanned skin, dark-brown eyes, scraggy black hair, sticking-out ears, wispy whiskers and slightly crooked teeth. He is commonly windswept, fish-stained and grinning. Current manuscript behaviour supports the youth, harbour grime and constant grin, while exact measurements remain legacy reference rather than locked prose.

Voice and manner

Bright harbour sing-song, quick bargaining and jokes that conceal fear. His language is informal, opportunistic and affectionate; when frightened for Bea, the performance drops and his youth shows.

Skills, Essan and limitations

Harbour geography, tides, guard routines, knots, nets, fast hands, bargaining, eavesdropping and moving between sailors, servants, markets and street crews.

Knowledge limits

Knows the docks, Skavos trade rumours, servants' routes and pieces of Hugo's operations. He does not have complete political knowledge and often fills gaps with confident invention.

Source status

Current working character Bible; full spoilers; author review required.

Visual status

Bright daylight, readable skin and clean warm-stone separation; identity remains author-review material.

Core psychology

External goal

Escape a life in which other people own his time and keep Bea alive long enough to make good on their promises.

Internal need

Understand that loyalty gives him a chosen place without requiring him to become grand or respectable.

Fear

Being trapped in dock labour, abandoned by people he trusts or watching Bea disappear into dangers he cannot follow.

Defining flaw or pressure

Curiosity and comic bravado repeatedly pull him closer to danger than his skills justify.

Arc by story stage
